Spring Cleaning to De-clutter Your Life

As I was doing the seasonal closet cleansing from winter wear to summer wear, I got to thinking about the many things that I owned and hardly used. I told myself I was sure to need it the minute I threw it away and so simply packed and unpacked it each season. That triggered a thought of my behaviour patterns. Just how many reactions based in fear did I have nestling in my subconscious self? Did I have instincts in my shadow self that were not really serving my higher purpose? The answer was a resounding yes.

If you are true to yourself, you will admit that not everything that we keep cluttered up in our minds is truly healthy for us to have up there. We may be very particular about the physical cleanliness of the rooms in our home, but are we even cognizant of the dirt that is lodged between our ears? How do you know you need to clean up your act? The areas you inhabit regularly are a good reflection of your state of mind. Look at your room, your bed, your cupboard and your desk at work. Are they clutter free? Or do you need to do some spring cleaning?

Spring is the perfect season to start over. It is the right time to physically cleanse out the living spaces you regular inhabit, as well as mentally de- clutter the mind. It’s the perfect time to let go of resentment, envy, greed, jealousy, and even old grudges. Pay attention to what comes rushing to your mind the next time you try to stay thought free. The images, thoughts, and words that chase away your peace of mind are doing nothing but cluttering it up. Make a deliberate effort to let these go. It’s like clearing the cobwebs in your mind to get a clearer picture of what you really want out of life.

If your fear is that the minute you throw something out, you will need it; ask yourself if it is really irreplaceable? Can you get something new that would solve the problem even more effectively? More often than not, you are worried about releasing your anger at a person because you are using it as a shield. The thought of acting nice to that person makes you feel that you will be a glutton for punishment as the other person will then be able to harm you without your shield in place. Now think about the alternative, maybe if you showed them love, they would also react to you with love!

Stranger things have happened and it all boils down to your own powers of manifestation. Are you ready to heal your life and release all negative energies from it? If you are, start using your affirmations and the Law of Attraction is sure to serve you and help make all your positive statements the actual truths of your life. Use this beautifully simple but powerful affirmation from Louise Hay –“ I continuously clear the clutter in my life

Doing the Important Things First

The Important Vs Urgent debate has been given quite an airing recently. Things that are urgent and need to be done right now, may not always be the things that are important for you to do. Pretty much everyone has a busy and hectic schedule these days. From officer executive to housewife, or school kid to college student. No one has time to spare. This means it is important for us to make sure that we utilize the time we have at our disposal wisely.

Identify the Uppers and Downers

There are some things you do in the day that raise your energy levels and make you better prepared to handle your time. These are called “Uppers”. They could include a walk in the morning, a break for a nap after lunch and even some mirror work when you are feeling low. Then there are things that literally seem to suck all the energy and time out of your life. These are the “Downers” which can include having to deal with constant interruptions at work from colleagues, or speaking to a relative who is very demanding or even trying to meet a deadline without taking a break to rejuvenate yourself.

Recognize the Urgent but Unimportant for the Triviality it is

There are some things that need to be done right away and can be termed as urgent. However the more important ones are not always urgent. Don’t waste your time chasing trivial tasks that seem extremely urgent but get you nowhere in the larger scheme of things. Get clear on what you would like to accomplish each day. Have small goals that you need to meet so that you know that you are not wasting your time chasing shadows. Know what is the important stuff you need to handle and break up large projects into smaller tasks that can be done each day.

Take Action on Important Stuff Without Procrastination

Once you are clear about where you are headed in the long run, you will be able to compartmentalize the Important vs the Urgent tasks that get thrown at you throughout the day. Current challenges that seem unrealistic can become a whole lot more manageable if you start doing the important things first. Don’t do the easy stuff first and wait to do the more difficult things when you have more time to concentrate on it. Start with the difficult things that you know need to be done.  Eliminate the self doubt that makes you push it to the back and feed your belief in your own abilities.

Affirmation : I live in a loving, abundant and harmonious universe and I am grateful. Everything I need for my success is brought to me now.

Standing in Your Full Power

The word power today brings many different meanings to mind. Some may think about the power of money, others about the power from controlling industries, and then there is also the not so savory power people may have over other people. For our purpose we are speaking of the power in a non dictatorial manner. A power that allows us to act in a manner that we see fit in a given situation. What then is this power?

The Power of Creation

In each of us there is power, to create, to experience and to live exactly how we wish to live. Some call this the Law of Attraction, others call it creating your destiny. Do you realize just how powerful you are? Every thought that you think is bringing the tomorrow that you designed closer to you. Do you even begin to understand that you are the one for whom the whole world is in existence? Or rather, it all stems from you, as you are the co creator of this world along with Spirit.

The Power to Accept Imperfection

When you understand that you have the power to create everything, you will also develop the power to accept things that are less than perfect. If we drive ourselves crazy by nit picking over tiny details on a regular basis, we will waste a lot of our energy on small and not as important things. When we learn that it is in our own hands to let it go, to accept that not everything must be just right, we own our power to accept imperfections and relax.

The Power to Live an Authentic Life

How often in life do we not want to do something like visit a relative, attend an event hosted by a friend, help out someone who you don’t particularly like? By forcing ourselves to do things that we do not enjoy, we are again giving away our power to people who make us feel guilty about not doing these things. By choosing to life a life honest to your own needs, you honour what is important to you. This is the power that allows you to lead a life based on your personal truth.

The Power to Believe and Allow

One of the worst things that you can do is give away your power to doubt and disbelief. The power to believe that what you want is coming to you, actually sustains life. The power to allow good things in to your life helps you maintain a steady flow of abundance. Don’t try to think about all the reasons why something can never happen, instead trust in the universe and allow it to do what is best for you. Surrendering your doubts and accepting that your rewards will come to you is a beautiful expression of this power.

Don’t give up your power by drifting into survival mode and disconnecting from Spirit. Try not to forget who you really are – a divine child of the universe. Don’t make excuses to avoid standing in your full power. Have faith that you can create a fun life for yourself where all your needs and wants are easily and effortlessly fulfilled.

Affirm to yourself – “I stand in my full divine power, easily and effortlessly.”

NO! : How Often Do You Use This Word?

Our words are powerful. Each word has a strong energy attached to it. And nothing is quite as strong as the simple two letter word –NO!

Do a quick reckoning of just how many times you use this word in a single day. When I was asked to actually keep track of the sheer number of times I use this word, I never thought my count would be very high. I am usually a very positive person, but I was astounded at the number of times I said the word no, or any of its variants in a different language, throughout the day.

Think about it, a friend relates an amusing story and you say, “No! Really? You did that?”
You miss the bus and instantly curse out loud, “Oh! No!”
Your mother asks you on the phone if you will be coming to a cousin’s wedding next week, “No, no, no. I don’t have leave,” you respond.
A car manages to splash water from a road side puddle on you and you shout out in horror, “No!”

As you begin to focus on your language and record the number of times you say the word “No” you will be surprised at the number of times you say it. What you do not understand is that by repeating this word ever so often, you signal to the universe that you prefer vibrating at the frequency of No rather than to the frequency of Yes.

In order words, you are happier avoiding whatever the flow of life will bring to you rather than embracing it. Changing the way we speak can actually make us become more positive in life. The next time you want to say the word No, think about it for a second. Can you perhaps replace it with another word which may be more appropriate under the circumstances?

For instance in the situations mentioned earlier, you could say, “It is difficult for me to imagine that you did that.” Or “I am going to be late if the next bus doesn’t come quickly.” You could say to your mother, “I would enjoy attending the wedding, but there is too much work in the office right now and I doubt that my boss will sanction my leave.” And while you are bound to be upset when someone splashes you on the road, try not to curse but take it in your stride. You get the idea.

Do this simple exercise

Take a guess as to the number of times you say this word each day. Now keep track of all the times you say” No” for a single day. Get the actual number and compare it with what you thought you would say. Is it higher? Then you need to work on improving the vocabulary you use by including more positive energy associated words with it. If it is lower, are you sure you counted correctly? If you are a positive person already, consider this just another reminder to ensure that you stick with high energy words in your speech.

Manifest Your Own Expectations

You are the co-creator of your reality. Every day you make hundreds of small decisions which influence how events shape up around you. If you ever feel that things are not as they should be, you hold the power to change that situation in your own hands. When you are down and out, you may choose to believe that external factors are to blame for your condition. That you are a victim being tossed around in the storm of the world. In your heart you know that is not true. With strong conviction you can make any expectation come true.

Learn to Distinguish Between “Needs” and “Wants”

Our basic expectations are our primary needs – food, clothing and shelter. There is a reason any business catering to these three needs always succeeds. Without these three basic needs being met we have no thought of any other expectations. It is only when our basic needs have been met that we can focus on our wants.

An orphaned child who begs for sustenance at traffic lights is just looking to feed himself.  That is his basic need. Once his stomach is full he dreams of riding in the fancy cars that pass him by each day. That is something he wants and because he visualizes it so very clearly he is able to achieve this goal later in life creating a “Rags to Riches” story.

When you consider each of your own individual expectations you will realize that the majority of them fall into the category of wants. This means that all your needs have already been met. So the first thing you must do is show loving gratitude to the Universe for having given you such a blessed existence. Then you may focus on manifesting your expectations.

Visualizing What You Want

The four steps to visualization that have been identified by Shakti Gawain in her book "Creative Visualization" are listed here to help you understand the process. Step one asks that you decide exactly what it is you wish to create in your life. The second step involves creating a clear picture in your mind of what you are creating. The more detailed your mental image the easier it will be to visualize.

Step three is focusing on this image with a calm mind. You can do this during medication. The last step is to add a positive affirmation to help your creating. You can use the image and the affirmation as a sort of mantra while you mediate in order to send loads of positive energy to what you wish to create.

Tools to Manifest Your Expectations

A dream book is a personal journal of how you would like your life to be. You can add pictures of things you want in the book. Write about the things you want to experience. Flip through the book daily and feel how you would if all these things were already in your life.

A vision board is also a good manifestation tool. Fill up the board with all your expectations. Write, draw or paste pictures of what you want to create in your life. Place it in a position where you can look at it easily every day.

An affirmations list is also a good way to push positive thoughts to create what you want. Once you write down your list of affirmations stand in front of the mirror and repeat it to yourself. Each affirmation needs to be repeated 50 times. This is a very powerful technique and does not take more than ten minutes a day. If you are really serious about creating a new life for yourself, you can surely spare ten minutes each day to manifest it.

Through Limiting Barriers Into Infinite Possibilities

Each one of us has a set of beliefs that make us who we are. Some of these beliefs are good for us while others work as limiting barriers. Take for instance the table under your computer. If I asked you what state is the table in, most of you would answer solid. This is only partially true and thus it is a perfect example of a limiting belief that works as a barrier.

Solid Belief

Come back to the table made of wood. Run your hand over it. It is firm and solid. Suppose we took a sliver of wood from this table and placed it under a microscope. Would we still see a solid surface? No we would begin to see some spaces between the solid particles. If we magnify it some more we would come down to the molecular level where there is a lot more space between the molecules and it hardly looks solid. If we could magnify it even more we would end up at the atomic level where we see a few hints of solid in the nuclei but mostly energy charged ions floating about in their orbits.

At this level of magnification we will never think of it as a solid. It is more like raw energy. So the table that you thought was solid, is actually an amalgamation of different energies. This is the biggest truth we need to recognize in our universe. Everything that you look at around you is merely a form of energy. This is not limited to non living things, everyone who come across is also radiating some form of energy or the other.

Attraction Exists

It is this energy that makes you comfortable in the presence of some people and uncomfortable in the presence of others.  Think of a bar magnet, and how their poles attract. If you place two bar magnets on a table at the right distance their mutual force of attraction will literally pull them physically together. It is just the same with people. Here too like energies get pulled together. If your energy is similar to someone else you will be attracted to that person.

On a more sublime note, even your thoughts have energies. At the right vibration the energy of your thought can literally bring what you are thinking about to you. Herein lies the secret of manifestation. The more energy you put behind a thought, the more likely it is to come true. If you keep thinking that you are running late, you will actually become late. If you worry that things are going to go wrong, then they will.

Beyond Barriers

Most meta-physicians will tell you to THINK POSITIVE for this reason. The Law of Attraction (LoA) ensures that what you think about often comes to pass. Thus it makes sense that if you will manifest what you think about, you should think about something good. If you can really truly leave behind the barriers of your limiting beliefs, you can manifest anything you want.

A new career, a new relationship, release from an illness, it is all possible, but only if you really believe it is possible. To eliminate self doubt, use the affirmation from Louise L. Hay's Meditations to Heal Your Life that says “I go beyond barriers into possibilities”.  Be open to Divine Wisdom and see what guidance you receive. Then leave your limiting beliefs behind you and walk into the infinite possibilities that open up before you.

Love and light always…
