Several Reasons Prevent You from Living the Life You Want

There is a major prevalence of dissatisfaction among people today. No matter what stage of life they are at, be it a student in a college, a corporate employee, a self employed entrepreneur or a housewife who takes care of the home. Everyone is struggling with issues of low self esteem that do not allow them to live the life they want to. Even when no one is physically holding them back from living their dreams and achieving new ambitions, their very thoughts hold them back from scaling new heights.

1. Self Care is not Selfish

Most of us as reluctant to take the time out to do more of ourselves. We argue we don’t have the time or resources to pamper ourselves. We lie to ourselves and to the world. Lying doesn't take us anywhere but still we lie and for some, it becomes a habit. Instead acknowledge that you can take that art, dance, music, or photography class. You can scrape the money and time required for it if you put your full attention to it. If you take care of yourself, your needs, your dreams, you are not suddenly turning into a selfish person.

2. Our schedule does not reflect our true priorities

There is an exercise that I did in a time management class which asked us to represent our day with a circle, then divide it up based on the number of hours we pursued certain activities. The first time I drew my time wheel I was amazed at the huge slots of hours that I wasting in my 12 hour functional day. How much time do you spend on trivial activities during the day that do no matter? How much time to you spend on activities that you consider your true priorities? Found the imbalance, now fix it!

3. Adrenaline has become our main choice of fuel

We can’t sit still anymore as we believe that a person who is not on the go always, is wasting time. We want to be productive even at the cost of our health and relationships. That surge of adrenaline pumping through our bodies has become our addiction. We want to feel that high when we rush from one place to the other. There is no place to slow down and think about what we actually want from life. Until you do that, you are never going to live the life you want.

4. Drained by people, places and things

Think about the energy vampires in your life. The people who want to tell you all their troubles and listen to them whining when you have better things to do. The places where nothing ever gets done on time and you have to visit them a couple of times before you make even the most rudimentary of progress. The things that need to be repaired, but you keep putting off and struggling with. All these are draining your energy and preventing you from living the life you deserve.

5. Can’t afford it

Money is a major concern for all of us in the material world that we are living in. Most of us believe that there isn’t enough money to go around and this lie actually becomes the truth of your life. Don't be a perpetual liar. It ruins everything like a low death. Be firm with yourself when you think negatively about money. Tell yourself you can afford the new purchase that you want to make. It’s all a matter of faking it till you make it. Trust me, money will flow in where none was expected!

Build a Support System that you can trust and you can live the life you dream of. Another mistake many of us make is not paying attention to spiritual well being. Just as important as it is to have a physically healthy body , it is important to have good emotional health and that is where a spiritual bent of mind makes a huge difference! Love yourself and heal the world!

Spring Cleaning to De-clutter Your Life

As I was doing the seasonal closet cleansing from winter wear to summer wear, I got to thinking about the many things that I owned and hardly used. I told myself I was sure to need it the minute I threw it away and so simply packed and unpacked it each season. That triggered a thought of my behaviour patterns. Just how many reactions based in fear did I have nestling in my subconscious self? Did I have instincts in my shadow self that were not really serving my higher purpose? The answer was a resounding yes.

If you are true to yourself, you will admit that not everything that we keep cluttered up in our minds is truly healthy for us to have up there. We may be very particular about the physical cleanliness of the rooms in our home, but are we even cognizant of the dirt that is lodged between our ears? How do you know you need to clean up your act? The areas you inhabit regularly are a good reflection of your state of mind. Look at your room, your bed, your cupboard and your desk at work. Are they clutter free? Or do you need to do some spring cleaning?

Spring is the perfect season to start over. It is the right time to physically cleanse out the living spaces you regular inhabit, as well as mentally de- clutter the mind. It’s the perfect time to let go of resentment, envy, greed, jealousy, and even old grudges. Pay attention to what comes rushing to your mind the next time you try to stay thought free. The images, thoughts, and words that chase away your peace of mind are doing nothing but cluttering it up. Make a deliberate effort to let these go. It’s like clearing the cobwebs in your mind to get a clearer picture of what you really want out of life.

If your fear is that the minute you throw something out, you will need it; ask yourself if it is really irreplaceable? Can you get something new that would solve the problem even more effectively? More often than not, you are worried about releasing your anger at a person because you are using it as a shield. The thought of acting nice to that person makes you feel that you will be a glutton for punishment as the other person will then be able to harm you without your shield in place. Now think about the alternative, maybe if you showed them love, they would also react to you with love!

Stranger things have happened and it all boils down to your own powers of manifestation. Are you ready to heal your life and release all negative energies from it? If you are, start using your affirmations and the Law of Attraction is sure to serve you and help make all your positive statements the actual truths of your life. Use this beautifully simple but powerful affirmation from Louise Hay –“ I continuously clear the clutter in my life

Creating your own luck

Richard Wiseman is a Professor of the Public Understanding of Psychology at the University of Hertfordshire in the United Kingdom. He has the distinction of having investigated that most elusive quality that can change your lives – Luck! The gentleman has studied over 400 people over the period of a decade who considered themselves either really lucky or really unlucky to determine just how good fortune may be generated! Now wouldn’t it be easier to heal your life if you could generate good luck as and when you needed it, you say.

In one his experiments he gave the people a newspaper and asked them to count the number of images it had. Those with bad luck took about two minutes to count the photos, while those with good luck took just a few seconds. Why? The second page of the newspaper contained a half page message saying, “Stop counting and tell the experimenter there are 43 photographs in the newspaper.” The unlucky people missed this message despite it being well placed and easy to read. Wiseman then decided to see what made the people’s perceptions differ. Here’s what he identified was different about lucky people.

The Four Principles Professor Wiseman Identified

Apparently generating good luck to create better lives can be scaled down to these four principles.

1. Maximize Chance Opportunities:  The people who are lucky tend to create, notice and act upon chance opportunities on a regular basis. They network and adopt an easy attitude to life. They are always up to try out something new for the first time.

2. Listening to Lucky Hunches: Lucky people very often take steps based on what their gut tells them. They can make major decisions simply by paying attention to what their intuition tells them. What’s more they usually take steps to clear their mind or meditate to ensure that they enhance their intuitive capabilities.

3. Expect Good Fortune: This is a no brainer. They are almost always optimistic about the day and whatever activity they are undertaking. They shape their destinies by always expecting good things to come their way. Yes they are basically invoking the Law of Attraction to ensure their positive prophecies are self fulfilling.

4. Turn Bad Luck to Good: They have the “if life gave you lemons, make lemonade” attitude that always manages to see the good in any potentially disastrous situation. They are also less likely to brood over the past failures they have had. They will do a quick check and learn what they can from the incident before moving on, positive that the next time they are bound to do better.

The Luck School

Apparently the good Professor went on to develop techniques that helped unlucky people think, behave and react like lucky people. These techniques were used by the test group for a single month and then tested for efficacy though a series of experiments. What was amazing to see what that 80 percent of the people were happier, more satisfied and felt luckier than before. Some mentioned dramatic improvements in life fields that they had previously been struggling with. Others showed improved confidence and started seeing the positive side of things more easily.

Essentially when you think about it, it all comes down to exactly what Louise Hay has been telling us for years. Think positively, set intentions and go with the flow.

Affirm – “I create my own good luck.”

Change is Inevitable: Accepting Your Spiritual Side

About ten years ago I did the Art of Living Course and was sharing my experience with family when my grandmother asked me, “Don’t you know how to live life?”

I recently spoke with a friend about a Heal Your Life Workshop, and the first question I was asked was, “What’s wrong with your life?”

Over the years I have let the doubts and criticism of family and friends roll off like water rolls off the back of a duck. However there was a time when it used to stick. There was a time when although I wanted to do these spiritual courses and workshops, I was worried about what people who came to know about it would think of me.

The opinion of my family members and loved ones mattered and I wanted to keep up the appearance of being “normal”. However life kept going crazier and crazier on me and at one point of time I could no longer keep up with all that seemed to be flooding into my state of being.  I knew I needed some help and I knew where I could get, so I finally got over all the mental blocks and went for it.

That’s the point when I said to myself, “OK. Stop. Inhale. Listen. Assimilate. Exhale.... And now prioritize.” There will always be people who disagree with what you say. No two people have the same journey to make in this world. So it’s alright to be a bit different from other people around you. It is absolutely fine to pursue what you are interested in, especially when you are not harming anyone else. After that it was just a matter of picking and choosing what I wanted to learn and when. And I can honestly say that it has been one of the most enriching periods of my life.

Now that you have decided to accept the change, the point is where do you begin? These are a few questions to get you started:
Do I enjoy my life every day?
Am I happy with my job/career?
Am I making a difference?
Is there anything holding me back?

As you think about what all you are not quite satisfied with in your life, you will begin to come up with suggestions to make changes – big and small – to get to where you really want to be. If part of that process involves investing in yourself, so be it. Find the experts who can help you. Make sure you get nice positive vibes from them and are willing to trust them with the intimate details of your life.  Remember that in order for them to help you, they need to see the bare you. Once they can figure out what you need, they can guide you in a manner that can send your life soaring. The only way to find out if it works, is to experience it once.

Affirmation – “All that I need for my spiritual and emotional growth: resources, courses, teachers, books and more, are sent to me now.”

Love Yourself Enough to Count Your Blessings

Ever so often we get bogged down in all the things that seem to be going off track in our lives that it is simple to forget all the things that are going right. The truth is we forget to love ourselves, we forget that we have so much more to be thankful for than what seems to be going wrong. One of the easiest ways to remind yourself that you are truly blessed is to write down all the good things that happen to you every day in a Gratitude Journal.

Making a Gratitude Journal

It does not have to be something very elaborate with a pretty cover and expensive to boot. It can be a regular yearly diary, a simple spiral notebook or even just a word document on your computer. A Gratitude Journal needs to be something that is full of positive words and thoughts and makes your heart lighten the minute you pick it up. The idea is to reiterate to yourself that you are blessed, that good things happen to you often and that you are in the flow of the universe. This helps you manifest better with the Law of Attraction as well.

What is a Blessing?

Now blessings may mean different things to different people, just as the definition of happiness and success changes from person to person. Here for the purpose of our Gratitude Journal we are merely going to write about anything that gives you a positive vibration. Write down all that you were grateful for at the end of the day. Write about things that made your day easier, or just appreciate a person or situation that helped you. Reread the journal every time you feel overwhelmed with life to see how much you have to be happy about.

Specific Areas to Focus on

There are a few areas that everyone has some amount of focus on and you should make regular entries in your Gratitude Journal about them. These may include your body and health, your family and close relations, your career progression, your financial growth, your spiritual or personal growth, your travel and fun activities. As always, these are just starting points and you can expand on these guidelines to include things that really matter to you. As you begin to write down your gratitude daily you will also begin to Heal Your Life without realizing that you are doing so.

Gratitude is a pillar of spirituality that you can never go wrong with. By acknowledging the good that happens to you daily, you are setting up vibrations to receive more good into your life in the future. So why not show true gratefulness for all that you have instead of comparing yourself and your material possessions with those of others around you who seem to have more. Become the positive vibe that people go to when they feel low to perk themselves up. As you motivate others to become a better version of themselves, you bless them as much as you bless yourself.

Affirmation: I express gratitude for all the wonderful things in my life and the great things that are coming my way.

Creative Visualization and Healing Your Life

As a tool Creative Visualization is considered incredibly important by most spiritual healers. It can help you concentrate your inner power and bring into existence the reality you wish was yours. It allows you to manifest exactly what you want in an easy to understand manner. The more you use it, the easier it gets to bring your ideal life into existence.

What is Creative Visualization?

Simply put Creative Visualization is just your imagination at play. When you use your imagination to create a picture in your mind about what you wish to add to your life, you are creating your own future in a conscious manner. Most of us are already using this tool at a unconscious level. Haven’t you ever had the experience where something that you have been thinking about just happened to come to pass?

This is an example of the tool in use without your conscious awareness. Think about how much more powerful it would be when you are aware of what you are doing with Creative Visualization. It can be used to heal your life by targeting specific issues that are bothering you. It can be used to bring monetary prosperity and abundance in to your life. It can be used to find your ideal relationship and a whole lot more.

Controlling Your Fertile Imagination

If you are looking for love, but can’t help thinking that before you meet your soul mate, you are going to meet a number of “wrong” ones, you will. If you are looking for rewarding work, but can’t drum up the courage to leave your current appointment because you imagine finding that ideal job is impossible, you won’t.

You imagination is a double edged sword. It can give you exactly what you want, but at the same time it can also give exactly what you don’t want simply because you think about it so often. This is why it is important to ensure that your thoughts stay on the positive results that you want. If you can learn to control your imagination and keep it on positive images, you will manifest only positive results.

How to Create Your Creative Visualization

Essentially what you think about often enough, clearly enough and with enough feeling, you will bring into existence. Here’s how you can create your own personal creative visualization. Close your eyes and breathe calmly. Now imagine the idea, feeling, picture that you want to come to pass. Picture yourself when you have manifested this goal.

What are you looking like, who is around you, the more details you can add to the picture in your mind the easier it is for you to build your creative visualization picture. Once you have the image sketched out in your imagination, surround it with love and light. Feel radiant and happy as you will when you actually would have manifested this image. Feelings have powerful vibrations and how strongly you feel, will influence the ease with which you manifest the goal.

Dealing with You Sensitive Side

You believe in caring for others. You feel the pain of random strangers when you come to know about their loss. You are more emotional when faced with a tragic situation. You are extremely empathic with others about what difficulties they are going through in life. You are a sensitive and beautiful soul, but you seem to be up against a world made of stone. You seem to be getting hit by emotions, situations and people all the time and are unable to process it all in a wholesome manner. Here’s some help to let you make it.

Surround yourself with people who let you be your authentic self

One of the biggest problems with being super sensitive is the fact that you are always so worried about being misunderstood that you are super careful about sharing how you actually feel about people and situations. While you may think you are being polite and well mannered, the truth is that you are losing touch with the only person who truly matters in your life – you! If you need to wear an acceptable persona each time you are dealing with someone else, you will have a number of personas available to use, and none of them will be the real you. You will not be able to express your own thoughts and feelings freely, ever. So stick with people who actually like to listen to your true opinion about everything from a book you read, to the latest political discussion.

Turn down the noise in your life, stop the mindless distractions

To heal your life and love yourself, you need to be able to be the true you. If you keep reacting in the sensitive manner to everything around you, you will eventually become exhausted. This means that you need to cut to the chase, stay with the important stuff. Weed out the time consuming, energy zapping situations and people who float around your life like white noise. You need to pull the plug on them or else they will continue draining your power and energy. Don’t give in to mindless distractions and dramas being enacted in the lives of other people. It is their business, not yours.

Stop the violence that insults your sensitive side

Have you ever sat down to watch the news and felt absolutely gutted because of some violent story you just saw on the television. For most people fires, murders and terror attacks are a gruesome tale, but for the more sensitive ones, it’s almost like a prison sentence to having an awful day just thinking and rethinking about this story. Try and limit the violence in your life, be it in daily situations or even what you catch on the news or internet stories. Don’t become a bleeding heart and start posting about lost children, people who need surgery and all kinds of myriad depressing stories that can really take a toll on your positive attitude towards life.

Affirmation: “I live in the present moment. I am calm, serene and peaceful. I am surrounded by love.”
